Not Weird as in 'zombies and werewolves', but super-science ACW is definitely a sub-species of Victorian Science Fiction (VSF); there is a dedicated ACW scenario book for GASLIGHT, and Brigade Games did a supporting figure range for it

Victoria Hawkes, which I think was a character Mrs. Palmer created. Or inspired. Something...

I know they did plenty of ACW related stuff. Mott snack bowls overturned as timberclads, for instance.

Deadlands had the rocket pack blue bellies with kepis, right? Weird war to me.

In Her Magisty's Service had the Gothic War book for VSF creepies.

Sorry, stream-of-consciousness post again...

Actually, rather than simply adding 'zombies and werewolves' I was thinking of something more like 'A War Transformed' with a mix of American and European mythology. I can see the potential of several different factions, not just 'North against South' and different 'flavour' of mythology for the different factions. Could be a lot of potential there.

1864:Haitian Zombi, Witches, and Vampires from Napoleon III ?s expeditions take over New Orleans,  Cthulhu cults led by Sorcerors  rise all over the  coastal South, rival Great Old One?s such as Shub-Niggurath and Yog-Sototh carve out places for their own cults in various locales taking advantage of the Southerners willingness for human sacrifice as part of their lost cause in a desparate attempt to beat back the Union.  Humans take sides as appropriate but the war between South and North continues, now with sorcery as part of the military, and high priests controlling political factions. The North initially behind in magic resorts to ghoulish expedients.

I would say use Silver Bayonet - apart from revolvers, I don't think there's any big technology leap across those 50 odd years, so the rules would stand up well enough.

Silver Bayonet are such ?meh? rules, i would use FoL. Far more dramatic skirmishes, and bigger battle rules already exist.
