Well done!! Great job. If I knew how to post I would put up photos of my fleet. Boy we could have some splendid battles.

Then describe it with words! :)

A new addition to the fleet. Picked it up today for 75 EUR. It works for 28mm. Will waterline it and use it for the battle this weekend.

That looks amazing! And do you happen to have any tips for waterlining? I've been experimenting with some longships and they keep being uneven.

Well I use a regular saw and try to keep it as even as possible. Which is hard. But with big ships it tends to be less noticeable than with smaller ships.

But maybe you could use some clay to create a water effect around the boat to also hide the uneven parts?

That's a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion!

My initial response to the first photo: "Holy Shit!"

What a lovely collection.  I used a bunch of 'mantle piece' ships for my own 15 mm fleet of ships for pirate gaming.  I only semi-waterlined them, removed everything below the flat bases of the ships using a sharp chisel being careful not to damage masts and rigging.

Are most of your ships sourced similar to the recent addition or are some 28 mm purpose made ships?

As to my initial response, one must wonder the origin of such a pithy phrase!?

Thank you!

Well the scratch built one is made fpr 28mm (second from the left). As are the converted toy ships. The rest are in the 1/60 range, which works decently enough.
