This is the last battalion of the German Division painted by Dick Tennant.  I will be adding the Guard de Paris Battalion which was initially brigaded with the Frankfurters, as well as a Battalion from Hesse-Darmstadt.  Once those are complete the German division will be finished!

Excellent work, always liked the look of this division, really enjoy your blog.  Can I ask, what are the base sizes for the Frankfurters, I like the way you have 4 to a base. I also like the Baden troops, look forward to seeing the division altogether.

Thanks Schoey.  I chose to base in fours so that each would represent 1 company.  For larger 36 figure battalions, which is my standard, I usually base in sixes.  The bases are custom cut by Warbases in the UK and are 30mm x 27mm I believe, which gives them the same per figure footprint as the larger 6 figure bases which are 30x40mm.

Best,

David

Lovely old school minis, please who makes them and what size they remind of Minifigs of which (apparently) I have far too many of but my wife does not understand that there is no such thing as too many napoleonic minis!!

Hi Wellington Bonaparte,

The collection is primarily Hinton Hunt and Alberken miniatures (early Minifigs), so 1/72 in scale or around 23mm in height.  Glad you enjoyed the blog!

David,

Made a deal, the Lord won't call me till it's done, so it goes slowly!!! Mostly been working on 54 MM figures for a dear friend and a sailboat for another... but am also working on some gaming figures along the way. New approach so I can get an army into action quicker, so I am working on one element at a time and then am allowed to move on to the next one. Also, not trying to paint them as collector figures so usually buttons and piping is left off in some cases. I can usually finish an element in 2-3 panting sessions now not counting basing them which I prefer to do when an army is finished for consistency.
