We played a game of Lion Rampant set during the Thirteen Years' War. I commanded the forces of the Teutonic Order, while my opponent led troops of the Polish Crown.
Scenario:The Polish forces began in one corner of a long rectangular table and had to exit from the opposite corner along the long edge. I could deploy in the remaining two corners, effectively attempting to block and encircle them.

Forces:Polish Crown:
Mounted Knights
Foot Knights
Veteran Heavy Infantry
Crossbowmen
Teutonic Order:
2x Foot Knights (one unit of Teutonic knights, the other Scandinavian allies with Bloodthirsty)
Mercenary Pikemen
Heavy Infantry
Game Summary:At the start, the Polish player attempted to break through along the flank, maneuvering carefully near a small village. I responded by trying to encircle their troops amidst the buildings.
Mid-game, the Polish cavalry was forced to make a Wild Charge against one of my Foot Knight units. They lost the initial clash (1 to 2 casualties) and were then counter-charged and lost another two models. However, that victorious knight unit was later shot down by Polish crossbowmen.
The rest of the battle turned into a series of tactical maneuvers and brutal melee engagements among the village buildings. Both sides suffered losses, but morale began to waver on the Polish side. Eventually, only the crossbowmen remained on the battlefield – the rest of the Crown's troops had fled after sustaining heavy casualties.
Teutonic losses were also significant, especially among the pikemen and heavy infantry, but the Order managed to hold the field.
Final Thoughts:It was a tense and enjoyable match – very balanced until the final turns. A great representation of the gritty, chaotic nature of late medieval warfare!
