Job lot identification challenge
« on: June 26, 2025, 10:40:28 AM »
Last week I got rather Lucky (or at least I think so) by finding a lot of miniatures on a local auction site. It consisted of 31 miniatures and I won the lot for the starting price of €30,- So mere cents over €1,- per mini, which is a steal at any rate of course.

I did not know any of the minis from the pictures they provided, bar a couple which I tentatively identified as (probably) being from the Ion Age range.

Once I received them, I was able to determine that most of the lot are from Lucid Eye Miniatures, specifically from their 'The Plot Device' range; see the first picture. These will come in really handy in our current steampunk(ish) campaign as generic thugs.

The second picture is of the presumable Ion Age minis. Can anyone confirm my suspicion?

The third one is of a bunch of true 25mm minis, which I have spectacularly failed to identify. Does anyone have any clue?

Fourth and fifth pics are of assorted other miniatures, all which I have also not been able to identify. Any ideas there? Anyone recognise anything?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Third pic are reminiscent of Space Farers by Citadel?
Think the may be Laserburn 25mm?

4th pic centre is definitely AA

https://www.alternative-armies.com/products/ia128-betrayer

I suggest peruse their 28mm and 15mm sci-fi section, but most of it looks very AA.

possible the base might have AA and a number on them

Cheers Tactalvanic: identified all the minis in picture 4 and the left and right ones in picture 5 as well; all are part of the Betrayer faction in AA's Ion Age range :)

+++EDIT+++ I just checked the entire Laserburn catalogue on AA's site, but no luck. So the middle mini in the 5th picture, plus all of the 15s remain unidentified as of yet...

+++RE-EDIT+++ Picture 5, middle mini: Ice Queen from the Seasons of Celebration Range. Also @ AA :)

That's them!  8)

Considering the state and nature of the metal used, I'm guessing they're the AA re-releases. Especially since a lot of the other minis are also from there. The only one not yet positively identified is the 3rd guy from the left, but I'm fully expecting him to be the AA re-release of Tabletop games HA1 Pirate Captain. I'm off to find the picture...

Yeah, everything in the last 4 pics is available from Alternative Armies, various Ion Age minis and the Ice Queen (as mentioned).

So apparently, I've bought a small bunch of Laserburn minis in that lot, and now I'm contemplating putting together 2 small forces and buying the rules from AA.

You know; I couldn't let these ancient sculpts get buried in Lead Mountain, now could I? Not with so much history tied to the game. And it's still available, at very affordable prices too!

Great; another rabbit hole... ::) lol
