2nd Seminole War - more pics added
« on: 18 September 2025, 06:35:56 PM »
This thread will be a running narrative of my 25-28mm Second Seminole War (2SW) efforts... which has been bumbling along for a couple years now.

Starting off, a group of Maroons-Cuban Smugglers. Picked up these raw figures, identified as "Caribbean Renegades" from Xander in the Bazaar of Obscurities. The are actually a mix of Trent Miniatures escaped slaves and some Foundry tribal types.

Recently, I've started gathering figures painted by friends that I consider to be accomplished painters (for many years my figure collection was all "painted by me"... I've decided I like a little more variety and if I give the figures my basing treatment, everything fits together well). Anyway, these were painted by my friend Joel and then I gave them my basing treatment.

Those look great, Bill! Seminole Wars is a very interesting bit of history. I like that you take the time and effort to rebase or at last re-flock painted figs you acquire from other sources. I have a friend who doesn't usually do that and his stuff always looks like a mess on the tabletop, even if the paint job on the figs isn't bad...

Samples of my U.S. Revenue Cutter Service Marines and regular Seminoles.

Almost all of my figures for these two groups are OG. All of the Marines, except for a couple Officers, were painted by my friend Lare, as were the Seminoles in this sample pic. Mex-Am War Naval Infantry serve as the Marines since the uniforms were very close in style. All figures are given my basing treatment to pull the various paint jobs together.
