My creepy hillside door was inspired from the Lovecraft movie "The Ressurrected" one of the few good lovecraft films which is a retelling of The Charles Dexter Ward Story".

I thought that might be the case when I first saw that piece. Excellent bit of terrain! (One which I will of course have to lift for my own games!)

That scene in the film with the flooding river and "the abominations" washing ashore was one of the best in the movie - second only to the filmed-by-failing-flashlight exploration of Curwen's underground complex, IMHO. I'm thinking that a terrain piece like the hillside door would make a great entrance for a series of tunnels and rooms (possibly represented by Dwarven Forge pieces). Add in a few house rules for failing light sources and random pits/wandering abominations, and oohhh... I think I'm getting an idea for my next game.  >:D

Here are my 2 simple swamp CD's.

It's almost ready to prime but I wanted to put a tiny mud island in each of the marsh areas to place some plants on and I need to texture the basin with sand.

The tiny brown aluminum pieces are white glued to the bottom.  They were Dove Chocolate wrappers.   :P

I bought this house from Perry Miniatures for my LotOW table, but I think it would work well, given a different, more run down, paint scheme, for Innsmouth. ALso remainds me of the HPL story with the old cannible living in a remote part of rural new england (I forget what it was called)

Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/

The picture in the house was the name of the story.

Nice house.

The Plasticville line has some cool stuff. I've got the 'Hobo Village' set...pretty cool rundown buildings.

btw - what "cthulhu-games" do you play? I mean Strange Aeons - that's obvious, minis can also be used to illustrate some action in rpg but what else?

The "Grannies Cabin" from the Miniature Building Authority, would be suitably Creepy rural looking too.  http://www.miniaturebuildingauthority.com/proddetail.asp?prod=10804

I'm really going to have to take a shot at these CD bases for exterior terrain. It's a great idea and now I'll have a use for all those horribly beat up CDs from my teenage years.

That Grannies Cabin looks nice but it's almost $50.oo US!

I don't know if I could spend that much on a single house. Wheew!
