Some New Dinos: Try these on for size!!!
« on: March 26, 2007, 08:48:15 PM »
I've just picked up a few dinos ( blame Fritzy!) for some Dino Hunting.
I was having a bit of indecision about what scale they should be for 28mm so I've decided that my "Big" Dinos will be really big, just keeping the smaller ( person sized) dinos at a reasonable scale.
The first two are from PAPO:

The mini is a Copplestone miniature to give an idea of scale. The T-Rex is stunning! PAPO are a little expensive but really well painted.

Next up are from FAVORITE. They are 1:50 scale and are also pretty well painted:

I've got a few smaller Sauropods but I couldn't resist this monster from SCHLEICH:

Yes I know it's too big but...........have you seen an Argentinosaurus?

Just waiting for some Copplestone Raptors!

Hi Grimm,
The 1:50 scale dinos are by a company called "Favorite".
I got mine from:
http://www.dinosaurtime.co.uk/

I have found this site in Germany. It's got these plus loads of others. Hope it helps:

:o  :o  :o

Those are some good looking dinosaurs!  Thanks very much for the link to the dino goodness!   :)

I'd gladly pay the price they want for models when they have that much detail.

Picked up a couple more Dinos.
These are called "Dinosaur Collection" Dinosaurs and some of the proceeds go to the RSPCA ( Royal Society for the protection of Animals). I picked them up on Ebay for a few pounds each. Unfortunately there is no manufacturer or brand name.

The Steg is very nice!

The T-Rex is probably about right scale wise for 28mm but is puny compared to the Papo one. I'll probably use it as a youngster or another Carnosaur.

:o WoW! Those are some awesome dinos! :o

I did some quick calculations and the PAPO T-rex is 6.5" tall, which would be about about 20-25 feet tall when compared to the 28mm figure. A normal T-rex was about 15 feet tall at the largest, which would be about 4" - 4.5" inches tall in 28mm.

Still, for pulp adventures it wouldn't be that inconcivable that a breed for super dinosaurs would be found. You should come up with a new name for your "super-sized" T-rex.

Thanks kungfusnwbrdr , glad you like them! :)

The Papo T-Rex is a huge beasty , which as you said, isn't out of place for Pulp gaming. I was going to use him as a Giganatosaurus , which was basically an oversized T-Rex from South America.

But maybe it's some undiscovered species..............!!?
