POWs
« on: 07 January 2010, 10:33:05 AM »
I've been looking at Ebob's Stalag range and searched to find Malamute's post on Enemy Lines figures but I wonder if anyone else knows of POW ranges suited to Great Escape type games? And other rule sets?  ???
Cheers,

I'm not sure how Ebob and Artizan figures compare in size, but I was thinking that some of the officers in the Artizan Thrilling Tales line could be converted for POWs in a Great Escape type game.  There's a few that don't carry any weapons, you'd just have to file off a pistol holster.  Might be some usuable guard figures in there too.

You could certainly use some of the Brigade Miniatures Merchant Navy sailors without arms as POWs theya re in jerseys and donkey jackets, perhaps some would need head swaps for berets and side caps

Thanks Olaf. Peter, I've just completed a commission involving the German sentries in greatcoat amongst others of their range.. Overall they paint up okay, but please be aware their rifles are terrible. The rifle butt is like a tree trunk it's that huge, besides which I couldn't identify this rifle as a mauser. If you can get over this issue then they are okay for sentries.

Best wishes,

Thanks, Helen, for the professional's tip/review. I have access to a number of the Foundry German sentries and I have some of the Ebob ones on their way.

And always good to get the input of LAFers.

I'm not sure how Ebob and Artizan figures compare in size.....

I bought some EBob guards to go with my Crusader and Bolt Action figures but didn't like the fit (EBOB were beautiful but if I remember right were too small) so I got the Feldpolizei figures to convert here.  Doesn't help with your search for POWs though.

As already flagged, some of the Thrilling Tales range might be useful as POWs, for example Georges as an escapee in civilian clothes with small suitcase  (very Great Escape), and Pilot Officer Reynolds in flying jacket.
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)
