He's much more Dread Pirate Roberts this one, than Malamute's, isn't he?

Lovely job on the black. Very subtle but effective. And is that a replacement blade?

Love the handling of the black. Dead envious of that. Something odd about the mouth area that I can't quite put my finger on, though. The moustache and lip sort of fuse into a black lipstick goth/emo/joker  look somehow. Or he's been eating a lot of liquorice.

(Not saying I could do any better, mind. Not by any means.)

I have to agree with the above statement. The mouth is just not right... and its because of the lipstick look of the bottom lip.

But, what you've done with a predominantly black miniature is amazing.

Great work!

He looks great, Love the subtle black. I can see what the others are saying about the lips, but it does not detract in my opinion. :)

Thanks chaps.   :)

It is a replacement blade - as in a pin.  More rapier-looking.

Lip?  I know what you mean.  Figure in RL looks fine though.  And I didn't change it because...I never do.  Once a figure is "done" it's done and I move onto the next one.   :)

Good rule. I wish I could stick to it. Occasionally I find myself tinkering with older figures because there is something I don't like about them. But you have to keep a grip on that kind of thing. That way madness lies...

With the lip thing, I think it's a problem with the casting more than the painting. Unless the 'tache wearer has one of those enormous "walrus" thingies, the top lip is almost always just visible under it. If there was just a hint of top lip showing, allowing a bit of shading between the lips, it would be better.

As it is, I agree that it is a superb paint-job and the black really is fantastic  :D

Very nice black paint job!
Last week I ordered the "another one" Zorro figure from Boot Hill Miniatures.
Sitting there on a horseback, as I have always wanted.
When I painted it, I'll show it here, of course.  ;)

I bought mine before Christmas. You'll no doubt get yours painted quicker than me. Malamute will be on my case soon  :(
