Basic (BASIC) advice please

Hi could you point me in the direction of  basic painting guide? Is there a thread here or sould I go for a dvd?

I haven't paited since I was about 17 and it was bad!

I would suggest that you plough through old threads (what I painted in XXX month is a good place to start) to find a style that you'd like to emulate.

Then paint something, put it up on LAF and then ask for advice as to how to improve.

You'll get honest and fair criticism, which will help you identify what to address.

 

Alternatively, the vallejo model color website has a detailed tutorial on blending acrylics.

In all seriousness, the Misguided Empire's book How to Paint Citadel Miniatures is a very good place to start.

No.  Foundry is the correct price.  Amazon undercut just about every other bookseller.  I buy lots of books there and all my techie publications (IT) where the savings are huge.
