Shoggoth?

I am not sure if this has been posted already, but I couldn't find reference so here it is :)

I was reading the D&D Monster Manual the other day when I came across the gibbering mouther. An aberration seemingly 'from the nightmares of a lunatic' it is clearly a shoggoth. The miniature is not half bad either!

Aaaand... you want to tell us what, exactly?!?  :?:

I´ve got one of the old RAFM shoggoths... unpainted for ten years. On the other hand, it´s undercoated black, so it might actually count as "half-done"...

Just having read Lovecraft for the first time in the last few months I am looking for figs for the genre :) I figured that I would post this in case anyone was thinking of looking for one of these figs but hadn't had the time to do any research...

At the very least, maybe there is someone like me looking to start collecting and they want to start with a shoggoth.

Sheesh, what a tough crowd here :P

;)

Don't worry about it - I appreciate the link.
I have used quite a few D&D miniatures as proxies for all sorts of projects but haven't seen this one yet.
You often find single figures for sale on ebay.

RAFM do quite an extensive range of Cthulhu monsters, investigators and so on.

I quite often hear people bad-mouthing them, but I like them. I have an as yet unpainted RAFM Shoggoth, and Nyarlathotep, too. I'm sure that's not all, but I can't remember what else I've got.

SOTA Toys do some large scale plastic stuff - their Cthulu and dagon are amazing:

and EM4 do some interesting character figures (I like the Deep One in overcoat):

You could also keep your eye out on eBay for some of the old Grenadier range of Cthulu figures...

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~tpope/sol/grenadier/cthulhu.html

In addition, some of the Chaos stuff that the Evil Empire (GW) produce can be used for Cthulhu creatures
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....
