From Froundry Ancient German to Peon/Bandolero
« on: January 17, 2010, 10:24:06 AM »
hey boys,
Let's start a new adventure in the conversion universe with Re-animator (if you don't see what i mean, read this topic before :
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=10620.0

The base will be some Ancient Germans from Foundry, converted into wild peons or bandolero (1)

Chose one hairy german, bare chest to give a wild look to your peon/Bandolero, like that one :

A) Cut off his hair knot, typical of his suebian origin.
B) If you are empty with courage, you can redesign his sword into a machete with cutter job.
C) Add a sombrero in his back, made with a thin metal/lead leaf . A sombrero sting made with electric wire, is added to the neck of the peon/bandolero.

now, waiting the paint work, a finished peon/bandolero should be looking like that :

from face

from back

more to follow

(1) for Bandolero in action see the trailer of that excellent movie (action and good music) :

Ah most interesting!

I am considering doing exactly the same with a Celt, but it looks like you beat me to it! I was stuck on what to use as a hat aside from sculpting. Some thin metallic sheet sounds like the way to go, though.

Can't wait to see more!

with a metal/lead leaf you don't make sculpting. You only model a soft material to something you want.
To make a sombrero or a hat, you just to cut a ring in the metal/lead leaf.
Give to the ring the shape of your Sombrero/hat.
Dril a hole in the center (to make enter into the top head of your victim).
I use a piece of metal/lead leaf that i model to look lite the top of the hat/sombrero and i press it on the top of the head with glue.
Now, you just put the ring on the head with the top hat passing throught the hole. Press on the piece of the hat to mahe one. The material is very effective for this work. You press the metal/lead easily and all the irregular shapes disappear.

see the hat of my hillbilly leader (made on a base of an Anciant German hornblower now drinking a bear before go hunting), on this picture front and back view:

i'll make an another topic about hillbilly's...on the same idea

one more "ex Ancien German" add on :
Running (only a bend job on his original leg). the sword arm is bent too for action purpose.

The sword is sculpted as a machete and a "mexican" belt is made with metal/lead leaf.

a shirt and a pancho are added. a small hair cut, a sword turned into a machete and you'll get an another Bandolero.
Pegasus cactus add a very nice final touch
