Tradition 28/30mm WW1?
« on: March 27, 2010, 04:09:10 AM »
Hello,

Is anyone here familiar with the Tradition of London WW1 Range in 30mm. Their Austrians look very classy from the webshots, but I can't say I've got any experience with their unpainted metals, and it's hard to tell just whether o not they'd work for my purposes with the quality of the photos. Out of curiosity, do they mix well with other 28mm or 30mm ranges?

Thanks,

Doc

I don't have any of their Great War range but I do have an example of two of their bandsmen. They will prove a lot slimmer than most of the current crop of minis. Not sure I would mix and match. Detail is reasonable for 30+ year old figures but the detail of faces is rather soft, not quite Minifigs but not too far advanced. Bear in mind that not all Tradition figures are equal. The Chas Stadden ones were brilliant for their time but... there are also some in the range that were sculpted by his son IIRC.

Hi Doc....
I personally think that the Tradition 30mm figures are great.  I find them to be very elegant and "refined".  They are older figures and are true 30mm but they are more on teh slender side.   So although they will be compatible in height to figure ranges like Great War, they will be significantly thinner.  They are still outstanding figures and well worth your time.
