The APE armour is fantastic. I really like the slight differences in green and brown throught the figures. How did you do that? Was it with washes or was it via slick application of paint?
I have been trying to avoid Incursion for financial reasons but it would only take a moment of weakness for me to buy it. Is the game itself fun? How does it compare with Space Hulk if you have ever played that?
LOL...Well the major difference between the brownish Ape and his green partners is the fact that I painted the Brown one first....and then after about 3 months started the others. (kinda forgot my mix at that point)....But I did use lots of brown ink as a wash thoroughout the suits, trying to give them a worn and dirty look.
The game is very fun, of course as with almost any game I enjoy, the 'theme' is a big factor for me. It does play very similarly to Space Hulk, but Incursion has a lot of varying elements, not only in troop types, but the use of what they call 'Battle Cards'. It adds another layer of strategy to the game. It doesn't look like they are slowing down on variety either, as the new 'faction' of the British Intelligence (MI-13's) are out now.
I'm planning on making my own mini factions, using some of the other minis I have. But, I've lots of plans, and very few results...LOL
I'd hate to recommend it if I thought I was going to cause a financial problem, but another great thing about INCURSION is that the board game itself comes with cardboard cutouts....So for the initial 50 dollar purchase price, you can begin playing the game right away. The minis themselves are not needed (but oh sooooo nice)....
Plus, it's a 'little guy' company....I find myself liking to support those kinds of companies.
Hope any of that ramble helps you decide!
