So I got a box of A Call To Arms British Infantry and have decided to paint half of them up in classic red coat and the other as an opposing force. In this case, Dutch mercenaries or maybe Swedes or something.
I'm still figuring out my camera.

The black lining of the eyes doesn't look so stark in person, but I might give it a toning down brown wash and a white touchup.

I'm going to mount them on 30mm/1-1/4" washers and base them up with the same sort of grit, flock and static grass that the terrain has.
Some sepia versions:

The plan at the moment is to start with something like Chain Reaction from Two Hour Wargames or Song of whatever and stuff. Simple rules for some simple skirmishing with 8 figures vs 8 figures in simple "red vs blue" uniforms.
Oh! I also have some nice Schleich and Hobby-Q dinosaurs that they might hunt.

Not my pick, but I have most of those. I'll probably give them a gloss varnish spray, a burnt umber oil wash, clean it up a swab and thinner and then varnish them again. The base paint job is pretty good.
