Please help the FNG.
« on: November 06, 2011, 07:07:37 PM »
Hello, I'm obviously new to the forum.  Please help: I'm looking for U.S. sources for 28mm and 40mm Old West miniatures.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.  I'm just getting started.

What do you mean by US source? Made by a US company or simply available in the US?

If it's the second, then just about any company that makes them will do as they all ship worldwide  :D Black Scorpion has some nice models in their Tombstone range. So does Foundry. Just take a look around the board and you'll find some more manufacturers.

Apologies, U.S. merchants for any manufacturers.  Specifically I was interested in Dixon miniatures, but I'm exploring any and all in those two scales.

I have ordered directly from Dixon in the past. Always got prompt & complete service from them. The same with Foundry.

There is a Sticky thread that covers the manufaturers pretty well right here in Old West.

Thanks all, I really like the looks of the Dixon figures, but 50% postage is ridiculous.  Too bad there don't seem to be any distributors/dealers in the US.

Did you look at the Old Glory figs? Not the greatest around, but fantastic for bulking out large forces and the civilians and wagons are great.

Hello and welcome! We have a sticky here at our board listing most of the companies selling old west miniatures. Did you have a look there?

I have now.  I'm still feeling my way around the neighborhood - I didn't see it when I first posted.  I got all excited and asked before completely exploring.

Thank you for your help - I really enjoy the forum.

Last US Dixon supplier sold out earlier this year (or did there best to do so).

Yeah, let's go with that!  I typed it before I really looked at it - ya use the abbreviation for so long you kinda forget what the individual letters stand for!

Apologies to anyone with sensitivities, I'd like to be a good neighbor.  Great fun here!
