My T 28 kit bashed tank

Worked this tank up as a project for our ACW2 campaign. Should strike some terror in the opposing factions.. just before it blows up!

I first saw this on either your Blog or another site.  I think it looks great and the use of buttons for wheels is inspired.

What did you use for the treads & road wheels?

And what figure is that included for scale?  An Old Glory Spanish American War Spaniard in pith helmet?  An Old Glory Mexican Revolution Federale in pith helmet?

The lads at my local club will want to know, because I have a theory that everything in the hobby (eventually) comes down to Federales.

Tracks are off a 1/48th stg III, It is an Old Glory 28mm figure, scale I used to make the tank is 1" = 5 feet. Turret and main Hull are all wood block in 3 total pieces shaped on a belt sander. Bogie's are 1/4" buttons, lots of styrene plastic bits for barrels and such. Some pioneer gear and fenders also off the stg III.

The buttons were from JoAnns crafts, flat, 1/4" round from the holiday section. On my site you can see the black and orange they originally were colored

If I hazarded a guess, about 3 to 4 dollars of stuff thrown into its construction. Should last long enough on the battlefield to draw a blizzard of fire and then blow up, and burn dramatically.

Major Weenie, to answer your other question, the figure in the picture is Old Glory's Spanish American War Spanish in pith helmet.  Alfrik is using is for his VSF army.

Very interesting.  Stock OG Federale cavalry, right out of the bag?  No boots, but long trousers?  I've painted a couple of bags of the OG Federale infantry which look remarkably similar.  I've made an embarrassingly large number of Mex-Rev posts at the LAF over time.  Is there a function whereby you could look up my posts, without me inflicting them on everyone again?

Personally I think that figures from the OG PIM line are on average better than the usual OG stuff.  The Federale infantry I saw was good, not as good as Perry or Copplestone but you get the idea, without the asymetrical arms that sometimes appear on OG figures.  The mounted Villistas are nice too, but the dismounted pack contains a few disappointments.  I wondered why they used a maxim gun when it should have been a hotchiss.  Perhaps they already had the mould???
