MDMB, what colour system do you use and, specifically, which ones do you use for skintones?

Pelikan Redbrown or Vallejo Red Leather as a base, Vallejo Dark Skin and Dwarf skin mix as highlight, Vallejo Elf skin and flat flesh and white as final highlight. That's about the basic system, you can make it a bit darker or lighter to your taste.
I'm using mainly Vallejo since I prefer to mix my own shade rather than using a premixed system but that's just a matter of taste.

So you use pure white for high hilites? I never do but for very pale faced minis.

I mix Vallejo Elf Skin, Flat Skin and White for the final highlight. How much white depends on the subject as you say.

The reson I ask is that I think I tend to use too dark deep shadows. Often a basecoat or wash of Vallejo Air Burnt Umbre. Other than that I stick to a rather succesfull mix (IMO) of IW Flesh base coat, Reaper Caucasian and finally Reaper Fair MAiden for high hilite. Mixes between the four varies depending on age, sex ethicity and level of scruffiness.
