Legends of the Battle of Britain

In the special issue #14 of the french wargames magazine Vae Victis, I wrote an aerial combat ruleset, a modification to Legends of the Old West.

Each player controls of a squadron with heroes & pilots. Mission after mission, the pilots gain experience, new skills but they can be killed in action or end the war in a stalag.



Though I used 1/285 planes, you can technically use any scale you want or even carboard counters.

I didn't write that ( It's the publisher...  ). Tali-ho is tally-ho phonetically pronounced by french people. The french word is Taïaut which is not for from tally-ho for french people (the double ll is sometimes special in french not far from the spanish letter ll).

Both words came from the hold french "taille haut" used since middle-ages and that means "cut high" with you sword / axe .

How much planes are needed to play an average sky battle ? Is there characteristics for historical planes or scenarios included in this issue?

Is there rules for creation of new planes included ?

There's a points system (depending on the quality of the pilots and on the planes).

I would say that 6 planes a side for a standard game. I tried to list all the british and german planes used during the battle of Britains. There are 4 scenarios included. I wish to release additional articles for a specific theater of operation with new lists of squadrons and planes.
