Am thinking of using my Artizan Wild West as proxies, anyone else done this?  Can't justify buying extra lead for a new game........  :-[

I find the best way to "Malifaux" something up is to add a few fantasy type touches to some 19th century or early 20th century figures. With the Cowboys, just as a few gas masks or fantasy type swords and bob's your uncle.

word of warning though, make sure to used the lipped bases as base size matters in the game. If you have not bought the book. check to see how large of a base the unit you wish to convert is on.

LOL, brilliant!

for the photo, i think you have to change light, and find a whiter one...
or at least use Lightroom for change some variables, and make your colors as they deserve! (even better, i mean! ^^ )

Many of us struggle with that - I am going to build me a light box (with diffusing side and top panels), like Hammers did, as I need it for minis, and my wife needs it for her jewelry  :D

As long as you use the Malifaux sized bases, most Reaper minis are already Malifaux'd up. I'm using one of theirs as an impressive Nekima proxy, at least until the real one is released in April. Heck, I might keep using my proxy afterwards and just buy the real one to be legit (and to have the regular sized stat card, but I could just order that for $0.50 in April).

No need to fix the color of your light, just adjust the white balance on your camera.

(Nice-looking figures, by the way!).

For a Desperate Mercenary I use one of my own sculpts. This guy here:

And this one for my Convict Gunslinger:

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

I'm liking what I'm seeing from people's mods or even original sculpts. Meanwhile, I'm just using two of the Ronin (the ones that actually have a pistol and a sword*) as my Desperate Mercenaries. If I were to use them in the same crew as my Viktorias, I'd just modify them or paint them in a different color scheme.

*I may just have to buy the hats and guns accessory pack just to give the other Ronin a pistol.
