hi,

i've been a lurker for some time now. decided to get on board and join in on the fun as time allows. :D

am primarily a minis collector (mithril, ral partha, grenadier, citadel) and look forward to checking out tutorials on painting and the like.

Welcome at LAF. Looking through your range of miniatures I'd say you found the right place to linger... Have fun and... oh, you know your way around having been a lurker. Now let's see some of your work.  ;)

i'm afraid there won't be a lot to show at the moment -- i have left all my minis in germany (am here on a student exchange), but i've received this in the mail today:

would anybody know in which publication they showed up first? i did find them on the collecting citadel miniatures portal, but not in any compendium ... they don't match any of the drawings.

Ah! Nostalgia. I have a huge collection so let me know if you need anything.

Looking at these early Mithril it is evident to me that they *really* benefited from being cast with high lead content metals. The later miniatures lack definition.

thanks for the offer -- if i can afford the price, i might get back to you on that. :D

and you're right regarding the soft features of the later figures ... but i'm a completist, can't help it. plus, the m148 olog troll was my first ever metal mini purchase and what got me into collecting (with a 20 year hiatus inbetween, haha) ... the good old times of merp. :)

some of the minis suffer from awkward sculpting and posing, too (the running poses are ridiculous, for instance). but i like them regardless.
