Mean Green Machine
« on: February 06, 2011, 02:25:11 PM »
I just finished painting up these Orcs for a friend of mine at the club for those curious to see what I've been up to. It's part of some of the miniatures I sold to him of my painted stuff and the rest is going on e-bay as I already have too many fantasy armies(6 still) and decided I wanted to reduce the armies to a more manageable amount and get a few coins for my hobby room renovation.
The first one is a Orc Warboss on the classic Wyvern which I think is much better model then the new one. The second one is a Orc Boar Boyz unit. Both were just painted up to table top standards and my friend was happy with the result which is what counts.  :)

Nice brushwork - I have a softspot for that old wyvern although mine is languishing in a few more pieces than it came in at the moment...  :'(

Even though I'm not much of a Warhammer player I do have a very soft spot for nicely painted Warhammer armies. I like your style, the orcs are just the way they should be. Nicely done...

Yeah...+1 thats a pretty high level of "table Top Standard"  I would be VERY proud to field a force of these!

Love your flesh tone for these...not too yellow...just the right amount of highlights...nice!

Just to let you know when I said table top standards I wasn't trying to be flippant about it. Table top standards for me is still painting the miniatures nicely and not just passable, but also with the understanding it is not intended for painting competitions as under closer observation the model just wouldn't pass the mustard test if you get where I'm going.  :)
