How do I model seaweed on a figure?
« on: April 03, 2011, 12:06:30 AM »
As the title says.  I am trying to do a conversion of a land beasty into a sea beasty, and I am not sure how to go about hanging seaweed off it realistically? Anyone have any ideas or hints? Or even examples?

My google fu is failing me.

Woodland scenic poly fiber soaked in glue.  It should be very convincing seaweed.

Beading thread stained green, put into place and then hardened off with liquid super glue perhaps?

This might take a while, but used tea leaves that have been dried, then glued on to the figure, then painted the appropriate colour.

Kelp and the like can be done with tissue paper soaked in thinned white glue.

Kelp and the like can be done with tissue paper soaked in thinned white glue.

And add small blobs of super glue to represent polyps and barnacles

Fish tank plastic seaweed or grass. You can find it in quiet a variety of sizes & scales.
