Good luck mate! Love your pirates: Zombie-Pirates (as Zombie-nazi) are always a wonderful subject! Would like to see some close up when contest is finished! 
About the paintjob on the spiders: it's something totally random, using a lot of washes. The orange one was the first I painted: white basecoat, gw folundation yellow as base on the spider, baal red wash for 2 times (to get a smoot orange effect, devlan mud wash in the deepest areas, yellow highlighting and water mixed baal red wash again. Finally yellow highlighting, 1:1 white and yellow highlighting and pure white on the highest part. Such a pain! I'm surprised to see that in pic the best effect is for that spider: looking them directly I for sure prefer the standard bearer's one.

Since the misses is busy painting her spider riders* and is looking over my shoulder I almost have to vote for them. They look rather funky too 

*She likes your spider riders as well, though doesn't really like that all the spiders seem to have different colours

Two very nice and colourful entries. I really like the bold colours on the spider riders and while I probably wouldn't paint them in different colours, I do really like the colourful effect this gives them. The zombie pirates look good too but the picture is unfortunately a bit unclear.

Sorry for the photographs guys! Do you think it's worth starting a thread where we all post pictures that other people have asked for? We could even have photos from the members that never managed to enter but have some teams ready? Might start one once this round finishes.

Thebinmann-all the ex-pirates are from privateer press apart from 'freshmeat'. I don't know where's he's from. I got him in a bring and buy sale with the rest of these guys. I thought he fitted in with them.

thank you mate, I think it totally depend from the pics! a close up on those z-pirates and I would have probably lost the round!
