A Clash of Swords
« on: April 26, 2011, 01:16:11 PM »
Hi,

The Somnambulist and I played our usual Bank Holiday minis game last weekend. This time round we went for “Legends of the High Seas”.

The Som used a pirate crew which had tasted victor before, and I chose a new privateer crew to try out. Using the “Gentleman” captain profile I managed to hire and equip 10 characters for my audacious raiding.

We set up a fairly simple table with jungle surrounding a long abandoned and ruinous stone fort. The two crews had been out foraging and encountered each other in the ruins. During the first couple of turns my privateers were rolling well, pushing pack some of The Som’s scurrilous dogs, but then the fighting turned nasty – The Som’s captain, Black Reg, fought back with skill and finesse. He felled a couple of mariners in quick succession and my poor cabin boy was cruelly hit and felled by one of the heathen crew. Having failed their courage test a Gentleman’s agreement was reached that both sides would retire.

Post action found one of my mariners dead and the cabin boy locked up – the next adventure awaits ...

Only a couple of pics of the struggle this time round -
