Some Sudan Test Pics
« on: 08 May 2011, 08:23:00 AM »
Gentlemen,
Spent a few intense painting days over Easter getting ready for a game that was delayed. Decided to set everybody out on the table anyway and snap a few pics to share.
Here are the first few

Tidy!

Great pics. Using natural sunlight for your lighting makes for some very dramatic, atmospheric shots, doesn't it?

Like my painting, my photographing is at the foothills of a steep learning curve. They are quite an improvement on my phone camera 'blurrs'. I still haven't quite mastered the settings on the wife's camera, getting close ups when it can't decide what to focus on is trickey.

As you can see from this one, the light effect in the background was entirely accidental.

I just thought daylight from the window would help, but the contrast when zoomed in came out much more dramatically than anticipated.
These two are the same shot but zoomed in for the second

Likewise but slightly further along the table.

Exposure and framing, as well as composition, is still very much a work in progres.

Excellent work! The light does give the images a very striking effect.
