A few Whites
« on: 14 May 2011, 09:33:56 PM »
And, in a similar vein, here are a few scruffy looking Whites:

They're contracted as mercenary muscle for my Back of Beyond oil prospecting expedition to Chinese Turkestan.

This is for a BoB campaign starting at the local club in July. The force is based on the dinosaur hunters list in the CLA supplement.

I'm moving onto the Texan oil drilling, whisky sipping, hellraising, roustabout wild catters next.

Very nice. I've been following your BoB campaign posts and it's great to see some paint on your minis.

Nice stuff, most or all Copplestone I think?

A good mixed batch of White mercenaries to cause trouble across Central Asia for new employers! Or, who knows, you could do straight-up RCW too.  :D

My nominally-RCW forces are far more likely to be used in random strangeness than straight-up RCW; my excuse is that I'm wandering into BoB/RCW from pulp gaming!

Interesting look - I gave up doing my basing last because, inevitably, I got basing material or paint on my finished figure. Now, I prime the fig and do the basing/base painting first!

Very nice Whites! Are you planning on making them a unique unit, or will you keep them as a 'generic' force?

 Good job!
 Looks excellent conversion.

What kind of paint used for painting the uniforms? Very authentic looking color. I really like it!

Thanks guys,

They're a one off unit for the moment but, in the long run, I might use them as the nucleus of a small (500+ points) White army.

The uniforms are painted in Foundry Cadaverous Green and the greatcoats are Foundry Granite, both in three stages of basecoat, midcoat and highlight.

I thought about doing the bases first but decided to go for the usual option of painting the figures first as I haven't decided what colour to paint the bases yet.

Cheers

Jim

Cadaverous Green? Wow now I'm really impressed because I have never gotten such nice results with that colour.

Thanks

I like Cadaverous Green and even more Phlegm Green  :-*

They're great for drybrushing over black undercoated vehicles in particular.
