Modern would be nice - if i may be bold to ask....
« on: 07 June 2011, 11:06:07 AM »
As a big fan and playtester of the Old Evo i like to say well done on such a lovely piece of work, from the cost to colours. Your passion and bloody fingers shows much hard work and love.

I do hope if you have time or extra Elfs you look at the option for Modern warfare too. Modern rules have be lacking in the tabletop world with the near future Ambush Alley rules coming soon, but with all the computer games in the near distance like Modern combat and battlefield and ghost recon maybe a set to fight battles from the days of black hawk down to the near future whatever that would bring us.

If fact later today if i have the time i will look at modern assault rifles, i guess it be like the G44 of ww2.. time to open my PDF up again..!!!!

Thanks for your interest.
Modern Combat is definitely an option.
But right now I have to concentrate on WW II to round up the most needed army lists and vehicles.
After that I am all open to suggestions!

And yes - IMO the StG44 stats cover modern AK-47s, M-16s etc pretty well...
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

If agis put whole lot of energy on finishing WW2 (and every bunch of expansion including army list and vehicle data) , I would say that modern warfare version will reach us on december (all has been calculated according the agis brain's fat and sweat  lol )

@agis
maybe just an idea, perhaps you put some polls to decide the book title for modern warfare version  ;)

Yes i have been checking the stats for the G-44 and its fine for modern assault rifles, but digging up my copy of modern combat, i have found many changes to your system which i`m pleased with. Things like Leadership is new the old system was 6" only. And the Actions now is not just move and shoot but i think 10 types of action..!!!

I look forward to your next ww2 book, i like to know what Elite soldiers have as there was none in the Basic rulebook, The SAS had a critical of 7+, not sure if thats still with Elite soldiers and Unit traits to handle these highly trained units.. for both WW2 and Modern.

Right I plan to leave all normal human soldiers at Critical 7+ Hit4+.
Save might be better as 6+ in Modern Combat.
Elite troops will be defined by higher Ld and suitable Abilities.

In weird war I have to address Zombies, Power Armour etc, but that might take some more days...

Hi Agis... Yes the Critical 7+ would show how tough and well trained they are as D6 damage could not cause the Crit 2 save rolls.
That would balance the lack of armour Special forces have ( if talking modern day ) for better moment.

Higher LD is correct, with Training and hand signals etc, more with high Tech comms ?

And last maybe a extra 1D6 to close combat like the old rules...

Better trained but not supermen..  Thanks for chatting, sorry in talking modern day, but i did see the figures you painted with the Apc, very nice...
