A little help please

Started painting again after a 10 year break. Amazed at the quality of stuff now days, dident have washes and stuff like that back then.

So the thing I wanted help with is the color white. What wash/ink will make white look nice?
Did some mummie figures the other day that I painted white and used a brown wash that came out very nice but it made a dirty light brown(perfect for those figures). Tho I want tips on how to get nice white color for shirts and outfits.

I usually go with a very light grey wash over white.

It depends on what kind of white you want, the ones I use most are a blueish grey, brown or bone color.

way back then I just thinned paint down, added some windwow cleaner...and it was a lot cheaper. Don´t buy it if you can make it.

Did that to, tho with black only so ended up looking a bit crappy.

Anyway thanks for the help, hafto see if I can get hold of a grey wash.

Vallejo has a Pale Grey wash and I think that Secret Weapon Miniatures has some as well. Although I haven't tried the grey one Vallejo has, the other ones I have tried from them has been very good.
