Same here - and all those bits and pieces, the birds, the little dragon cub. So cute. :-*
Almost all of the "bigger" (not by those new size standards, of course ;)) kits I bought were only for the extra bits and as conversion fodder. :P

Quite right!

I am really tempted to get the Arachnarok, too, by the way, just for the sake of building it into a giant enemy crab, so I can recreate battles that took actually took place in the Old World ... and have a heap of awesome goblin models and little giant spiders to boot. ::)

I am almost done with it - when I decide whether it belongs in Swashbuckling or Fantasy, I'll post it with th rest of my Orc Pirates.

Personally, I am about 50/50 on the most recent GW releases - I would probably quit if my regular group would let me, and play other stuff - but there are some real gems in the last few releases.

Thats the crunch really isn't it. I, like I think most of us here who play GW games, really only play because thats what our gaming group plays and therefore our only way to get a regular opponent. It's a pity most of them are so locked that they can't see the possibilities outside of GW.

Don't feel dirty. It's after all just a matter of personal taste...

Ha! That is even better! Very ingenious, making it a hermit one! :D
I will definitely watch out for its completion. :)

About the Tomb Kings - somehow, those snakish buggers appeal to me (the Stalkers, not the ridden ones). Although I am still not completeley decided if the Ravenors from 40K's Tyranids would not fit the "generally snakish monster demon thingy" category better for me than these. They *are* a bit specific, after all.
And pricey, of course. Dear Lord ...  ::)

So in gaming-terms will this move sideways or what?

Regarding the new TKs, I quite like the Stalkers and Knights (in that order), but once again the big stuff immediately set me cringing I'm afraid.  They just looks so, well, plastic and plain toyish I guess.  But as Doomhippie rightly pointed out it's all a matter of personal taste (and wealth).  Whatever floats your boat!

I must admit I really liked the big beasts, some of them may even become useful without the ogres on top
Cheers,
Pedro

Some of these large models look a bit, I don't know, childish, but some of them are ok.  Not really convinced with the new Vampire Counts monsters.

I know what you mean - they have a certain 'action-figure' look to them, right?
