New VSF RPG?
« on: 03 August 2011, 03:00:28 PM »
Has anybody heard anything about this?

Airship Pirates RPG!

An rpg based on the songs of Abney Park?  odd...
But it looks cool.
"What exactly is a 'Headpiece to the Staff of Ra'?"

I knew the band! But I never heard of the RPG, probably because I don't RPG  :)

"With a crew of drunken pilots
We're the only airship pirates
We're full of hot air and we're starting to rise
We're the terror of the skies but a danger to ourselves"

Just to awesome, that particular song!

The system is the Heresy Engine.
Breaks down like this:
Roll the number of white dice that is your skill level.  Ones and sixes count as successes.
If there is some difficulty with the action, you roll a number of  black dice and SUBTRACT the number of ones and sixes from your white dice total.

Odd dice system, but it actually works fairly quickly.

Yes, well, I MUCH prefer a system using four or less on a D12...  lol

Actually, can't recall off the top of my head, but I know some old boardgame (Battlemasters? Heroquest? ...scape?) had dice with 1/3 painted sides; even better than working out regular dice, methinks.

Thanks!
