using too fat lardies through the mud and the blood rules ,how do people tell the "Bigmen " apart i.e bigman 1 ,bigman 2 etc. I thought of using photos of the actual models on the cards but sometimes models are same similier ,do people mark/name  the bases or are there other cunning plans out there

I base my Big Men on tupenny bits and Big Men on pennies.  A UK Penny is about 3/4 of an inch diameter, a tupenny bit is about an inch.

I have seen people put small coloured beads on bases.

I've been using spare clear acrylic 1" hex bases under my existing figures to mark out the Big Men. It works quite nicely, as it's obvious without being glaring, if that makes sense.

I just use a dab of Blutack under the existing base (my figures are on pennies, so sub-20mm bases) to hold them onto the hex bases.

On the Big Man cards in the turn order deck, we just added notes like "Section #1, Corporal shouting" or "...corporal with fur hat" and that works OK, you just have to find a slightly different figure for each Big Man.

I have put my big men on larger diameter bases than the rank and file. Wright underneeth the base the name and Level or put small spots of paint on the rear of the base to display thier level.

All of my figures are mounted on 3/4" washers - for the Big man I have a 1" magnet that goes underneath. Some are simply colored, some have a ring on top the normal base sets in and is flocked to match a normal base, and I also have a couple with "Follow Me!" or "This Way Lads" word balloons that stick up so I can use whatever for the game.
