Anyone painted Reaper's Phat Clark?
« on: 30 December 2011, 05:48:24 PM »
Has anyone painted up a Phat Clark mini?  I'm looking for some inspiring examples.

Here's the mini: http://hobbyshopoutlet.com/images/uploads/reaperminiatures/RPR50112.jpg

I'm having a hard time coming up with an interesting, artistic color scheme.

Nice!  I was just looking at the Tweedle-twins when you posted.  Cool.

What is that flap of cloth across his chest supposed to be?  I have his belly khaki and the chest cloth thing red with gold trim but it looks too military/inquisitor for a futuristic gang boss.  I was thinking more like the Blade Runner world aesthetic.

Coat I made Chardahon (?) Granite (warm dark gray green) with a cold gray for the cuffs and fuzzy edging.  Now that I see yours, I prefer the light bone/stone color.

I know most people don't take mini painting quite this seriously but I try to create an image in my mind and produce exactly that.  What usually happens is I give it a go and it turns out okay but I'm still not creating exactly what I'm visualizing.  Maybe serious artists deal with this, too?

He's on my to do list.  I'm using him for the leader of my Space Pirates.
