As many here will know I am a big fan of Calpe although I don't do Naps and always like to see them when done very nicely like these. The yellow is particularly vibrant.

Thanks!

The yellow is from Cartoon Colour. It's their Cell Vinyl paint (use the drop down menu):

This is the link for the straight color:

I used their Golden Yellow #16. If you prefer a more subdued, perhaps realistic yellow I'd go with their Ochre #15. The number refers to the tint. #1 has lots of white in it and #30 has almost none.

We've found their yellows and reds cover black undercoat very well and they are still very vibrant.

They're more expensive once shipping is factored in but the time they save and the results are really worth it. Just be wary of ordering in the winter as they ship heated air to prevent the paint from freezing and it is VERY expensive. We stock up over the warmer months. 2 oz. is a lot of paint. Most people will never go through that much.

Also be warned some people have remarked that their shopping cart charges crazy shipping charges for overseas customers. I've actually bought the paints for people before and shipped the paints to them to help them save some money.

Given the high calibre of the paint job on this unit, it was slightly surprising to see no piping portrayed on the upper rim of the caps (schirmmütze).

The order for piping on the schirmutz came in mid 1814. Despite this I have seen sources without this piping, probably due partially to the time it took to take effect and partially due to supply issues. So, I went without the piping.

The customer is happy so that's what is important.

I have come across references to cartoon colour previously but never had the chance to try any.  I will try to remember to look for some when I am next over the pond.
