I need trees!
« on: April 17, 2015, 03:16:39 AM »
I need to find a supplier of model (deciduous) trees, preferably in the style of the old GW trees (Javis?). As the foliage needs to be repainted for the project I need them for, I need it to be very dense.

I know I have been pointed to a webstore by someone on here some years ago, which had trees of that type in various colours summer and fall, and possibly others), but the address completely eludes me, so any help reagding this will be most welcome!
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

K&M trees?  Since you are in Europe, you probably dont want where I get them from, but Atenocitis has them over there.

Might be the ones, I'm not sure, but they could be useful, thanks!

If you don't mind a little work, I'd found a tutorial that worked well for me.

Thats a pretty nice tutorial, Cheap-ish as well. Pitty I got my hand on about a hundred trees like that a few years ago at an after x-mas sale.

Just as an FYI, after I'd first found the video a while back, made a few hundred of them along with some help to split them up with friends and the club, and I learned one very good thing. If you make them, buy some cheap and disposable gloves because the flock and glue are a pain to get off your hands without partially peeling layers off painfully, not to mention digging chunks out.

I have bought trees of this Ebay seller that I am quite happy with. (now if only I could be bothered to finish their bases)

My tip would be look out for a Model Railway Exhibition. I find that you can pick up second-hand trees for a fraction of the retail at Bring-and-buy stalls at these exhibitions.

Good luck.
