1944waw.pl (book review)
« on: April 07, 2012, 11:05:16 AM »
Chronologically the third installment of the story about Polish soldiers from modern times being thrown back to 1939 and the outbreak of WW2. (While the first book titled 1939.com.pl made sense in a way - the title for this book is just silly). Still the third installment, while not being quite as good as "Major" is still rather exciting and interesting. Both colonel Grobicki, commander of the modern Poles from the first book, and Major Wojtynski the GROM special forces commander from the second book are both in this one.

The book takes place in 1944 at the outbreak of Warsaw uprising and includes a lot of really cool stuff that finally comes together. All the preparations made at the end of the first book where the modern Poles hid their surviving modern tanks and equipment, to the special forces training of new soldiers by Wojtynski in the second book make an impact as the city fighting begins.
