Slaine
« on: 15 April 2012, 07:23:49 PM »
Hello all,
can anyone point me in the direction of anyone who has wargamed Slaine? I am looking for a good skirmish set of rules that could take into account "Warp Spasm"!!!

Also i know foundry do Slaine in miniature, but I have heard that some are way big!!! which is the best one for mixing with the Celtos and Chronopia ranges?

Thanks in advance

If you are going for a small skirmish game then i would recommend "Song of Blades and Hero's".
For a normel game you have roughly 5-15 figs per side. The basic rules system is fast to learn and a lot of fun (I have been gaming now for around 30 years and have tried alot of rules. These are one of the best.)
Every figure has extra abilities which make it very flexible and you could easily fit it to Slaine.
I used it first for fantasy as it is written for and now for steampunk.

I'm using that Foundry version of Slaine along with mostly Celtos minis, and they work nice together

I just converted his weapons, made Skullsplitter out of the Spear and cutted down the Sword to become a "normal" sword.

I have also these, which are far to big

I also have the "Young Slaine", which is sligthly bigger (really not much), but I don't like the mini

Don't know about this version, but I guess he's sizewise like the Young one

I'mm still looking after a nice "Warped" version, because I'mnot so happy with the Foundry one.

Rules-wise I'm not sure yet, but was thinking about Matakishis CROM.

Foundry and Celtos. Just right for how I think they should look.
