Order of St. Lazarus - Sergeants?

I have a kind of slightly 'esoteric' question regarding the Hospitaliers of St. Lazarus:

Did the sergeants Wear White surcouts like the knights, or did they use a contrasting colour?

Any info on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

I know a friend of mine did these and if I remember correctly they had a white surcoat with green crosses?

May well be so, as that is at least the garment worn by the knights.  :)
