Zvezda Zis-5 truck review
« on: 16 July 2012, 10:42:58 AM »
Bought 3 packs of Zvezda Zis-5 trucks for my EW Polish motorized brigade, they look fairly similar to the Polish Fiat trucks that I was really after.

Anyways, I had thought that the trucks (and most other models) in the Zvezda range would be as simple, easy and fast to assemble as their airplane boxes (which are made up of something like 5 parts). The truck boxes are a lot more advanced and are made up of 18 (!) pieces, of soft bendy plastic. While I did save some money on buying these, I am relieved that I did not take a plunge and get all the 12 trucks I originally intended.

I'm so jealous that these Zis-5 trucks are in 1/100 scale! 1/72 plastic kits of soviet trucks are complicated and pricy  :'(

On the other hand, based on  your review, maybe I have nothing to be jealous about!

Have to say I didn't find these too bad at all. They fit so well there is no sanding or filing normally associated with resin/metal. Looks good when painted (even with my standards of painting).

Cheers
John
