Hello all
I'm Phil a hardened model maker of twenty years or so and an on and off gamer. For now I have a temporary web site
www.warterrain.co.uk until I’m settled in my new workshop and everything is going as it should be. I'm normally on eBay. But with my location the net is too slow or I’m too slow.
We have decided to move closer to my work place. I work as a night porter. I sleep all day and get up and build models to order then off to work. In my time off I’m found in my workshop building terrain or working on my 1:32 scale Section one of my model farm display.
After loosening my job in the UK, my wife been a local and all we decided to move back to Northern Ireland. Knowing that there are no game groups here I’ll never have a game. But at least knowing that somewhere in the world someone is using my terrain to battle over then that is my way of gaming’
One day I was getting my hair cut I came across the model farmer magazine and found a local group of model farmers who get together once a year to show off their model farms hence my work of art as seen on my web site I aim to build it 8ft by 8ft and display it at model farm shows around the UK. I was invited to an agricultural college where upon I had my section on display along with my collection FOW terrain and some figures. I met a young fella dressed in a WWII USA uniform part of a re-enactment group he told me about some games groups in Northern Ireland. I joined three met one group already due to meet the others once I’m settled into my new house and set up in my workshop.
I’ve been making my Bocage as seen on my web site for the last five years and having read reviews on TMP I have decided to totally remodel the way I make it. I’ve sent samples off to some clients for their views and up to now I have had some good responses. So I’ll make the change to my site once I’m reconnected to the net which will take weeks, I still have access to the net during work hours. This will give me the time to photograph and set up gaming tables with the local game groups I’m due to visit and to learn how to play flames of war for the first time and to see how well my terrain works. I’m looking forward to it. In time I will post pics of old and new once I’m settled in. Thank you and I hope to meet some of you at some wargames show in the near future just look for my trade stand Warterrain.co.uk.
Terrain for now
Phil
