cheap source for dungeon accessories (25/28mm) ?
« on: 21 October 2013, 07:48:39 PM »
Hi,

I recently finished my 3D dungeon, but I'm thinking that maybe I should fill it with resin (or metal) accessories, instead of building them myself. This way I'll save time for my other prioritary projects.

If you know good estores for this kind of things (doors, traps, treasures), cheapest as possible (otherwise I'll make them myself, I think) ;)

Thank you !

Have you thought about the Reaper bones plastic furniture. It's quite nice looking.

I went on their website, the accessories range is a bit limited. And I'm afraid with shipping it would not be that cheap too.

What I'm especially looking for are doors and treasures.

thanks !

Hirst art? It is  abit expensive to buy the moulds. But on the other hand, plaster is cheap and you can make as many as you want.

thanks for your help,

Concerning Hirst Arts, according to shipping costs it would be better if I had something like 3 or 5 molds to order...But only one would be interesting for now (cavern accessories), but mold +shipping + casting material (even if I already have 5kgs of jesmonite) would make the price a bit high, since I don't need hundreds of items.

I think I'll do my own. I just have to be focused 1 day on sculpting,  and another day for molding and casting  lol

The only issue is that my dungeon floors molds shrinked a bit, so measurements on my dungeon tiles are not usual (aroud 2.2cm each square), so my dungeon accessories would not be very compatible with other people dungeons. So the molds will be used once for me, and I will not be able to make a few pocket money casting a few extra parts.

Mega minis had a great catalog of dungeon scenery at really cool prices, but they where in process to close the company, not sure how many stock left.
As far as I remember they where selling their moulds so maybe the scenery range is available from other manufacturers, I would say they had a list on their site with the new owners for each range.

4Ground (laser MDF) is coming out with a bunch of furniture kits, and they're launching a dungeon line in the future.  Not available currently, but maybe worth a look.  I'll also be pouring over Ainsty looking for suitable bits (love their stuff).
