I've got the etched brass plate with drain covers from Antenociti. link
Nice stuff (although I haven't come round to using it)
Maybe you could ask them if they do custom etching jobs.

Couple of options.
The kit
Micromark
No chemicals in it so it is what it is.
Here is a do it yourself tutorial with instructions for all home made equipment.
Culttvman
Culttvman2
Culttvman3
culttvman4
The acid used is not too bad, it just has a very bad reaction with aluminum.
Hope that helps.

Well, i would pass for the homemade kit for two reasons:
First, the quality will never be as good as a factory machine made piece
Second, i only need a few part, and they are meant for masters. after that i‘ll cast the pieces in resin.

Will try to contact antenociti, but i was mainly look for any feedback to one of the various online services!

For what it's worth, the machine built by the gentleman in Snitchy's links is very similar to the one used by the metal etching place I used to work at. They mostly did textures for large molds, but they also did custom brass plates for printing and stamp making.

These ones are smaller, but the design is very close. I guess what I'm saying is that if you wanted you could probably achieve "professional" results with a set up like that. Be extra careful with those chemicals though. Some potentially nasty stuff...

I've been fucking about with the MicroMark kit a few times without any proper results so far. When I retire it is one of the many things I shall god damn master and bend to do my bidding.

With the homemade kit you can do on layer of etching, after that you cannot have the intermediate level of etching. nk doubts this is an exceptional way for making printed circuits or simple pieces, but for detailed multilayer pieces you shall need something different!

EDIT: jim, i just checked you link, it is simply amazinh! If the price is.not crazy i will place an order asap!

Aye, stick with PPD. Have used them for nearly 30 years, never had a problem.
