We picked up a leaflet last autumn, probably Leeds or Middlesbrough
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

I'm going to be running a giant El Cid battle using Hail Caesar rules at the show.  Looking forward to it.

I've had a message from the organiser of Cannon in response to the suggestion that the show has been under promoted:

"We have advertised in Jan/Fed/Mar editions of WI and MW (3 adverts), TMP announcement, nearly all our traders and games players are advertising the fact they are attending, a Facebook page, Detailed website, GEG forum headed thread, I’ve been to 12 shows between last May (Partizan) and printed and left over 500 flyers trader/games invitations as well as a local poster campaign. All this and I still suppose you can’t reach everyone with event promotion.
I still have no doubt we will attract 500 to the show (more the better of course) but this is the first event and word of mouth will play a much bigger part in years to come. Were under no illusions the show isn’t going to ever be a Triples, Salute or Derby (Donnington) but what we are trying hard to do is make this a friendly and varied event that’s profitable to the traders and provide a few hours entertainment for visitors and hope they look forward to next years.
Best wishes,
Darren"

Registered at last!
Thanks for passing the message on Doug.
It just about summed it up really, ive tried to reach out to as many folks as possible given a limited budget, time constraints and doing 99.9% of the work this year on my own. It’s difficult to know just where to target too. I’ve had some great advice from the Newark Irregulars and without support of folks like James Morris & Co. the show would be nothing. The odd irony is I didn’t know this forum existed until Doug brought it to my attention  ;)
Anyhow, it would be great to see some of you over on Sunday!

A friendly little show.
Good venue - light and airy, with first-rate catering.
90p for a large tea or coffee, or a huge slab of (very tasty home-made) cake.

Would probably go again just for the cake!

Bring and Buy had some reasonably priced pieces.
A few traders but not loads - good selection amongst them (but I didn't spend anything - it was my birthday and I didn't know what I might be getting as a pressie). A few reasonable looking games, half participation half demo.

Many thanks to all those who did manage to come along and supporting the show. We made the best of what we had with some last minute re-jigging after 4 traders unfortunately had to pull out due to the weather.
I’m now planning next year’s show (likely to be 30 March 2014) and we already have  improvements/changes and some major additions (but we will keep the catering  :P) we are going to introduce, so please keep an eye out for our website updates throughout the year. I’m hoping this show at that time of the year represents an opportunity for those in the north not going to Salute to shop and see some interesting games before Triples - the next show well over a month away.
Once again, thanks again for your support!
