Summer Hols in the Dordogne.....Castelnaud Chateaux

A 'wow' holiday buggered up in the main by a trapped nerve in the back......almost didn't make this day out as had a bad reaction to the painkillers....glad I persevered......wonderful medieval castle - loads of pics on my blog.

Great pics. Castelnaud is a grand place, isn't it? Did you pop over to Beynac, the French Castle that glowers across the valley at its 'English' rival?

Also, Josephine Baker's gaff (Château des Milandes) is just around the corner, and well worth a visit if you are into that kind of thing (if only for the large nudie pictures of her, and "banana skirt" on display).

One of my favourite spots on the earth, that little part of the valley. Thanks for reminding me of some good times.  :)

Missed both of those.......the trapped nerve happened before we went and threw me completely so I did no preparation for the holiday and we had no internet whilst there.......looks like another visit next year is in order  :D

I love that neck of the woods. Domme is one of my favourites – a little bastide town that held Templar prisoners for a while (you can see their graffiti on the walls).
