We recently played a First Carlist wargame using modified Neil Thomas 19th century rules, a full narrative and engravings can be found here http://newsfromthefront-phil.blogspot.co.uk/

Lovely miniatures and game board. I've always had a fancy for making a Carlist Army, but other projects and the relative scarcity of material for the period means I've never had a chance to start.

Nice report and good photos too. I'm quite a fan of Neil's rules and have played several napoleonic and medieval games of the last month. Nice and simple - handy for an evenings game.

Thanks for posting.

Bonjour Phil,

Marvellous!

Had just been ogling the Perry Carlist chaps on their website and then came across your post.

You have done the figures justice in both painting and game set-up terms.

Well done!

Particularly liked the rocket battery!

Now, I don't think i'm able to justify another period so the Carlists will be something I just admire from a distance but I could always change  my mind.

Cheers,

Paul
