Avanti!
« on: September 26, 2012, 10:23:31 PM »
Well... I'm here again!

After a long holidays, I return to the hobby. In June, La Fábrica Roja (forum) celebrated an event in Castellfollit de la Roca (Girona, Spain), and I was the teacher of the terrain' workshop.

One of those bases was like a sewer, perfect to put any miniature on it.

With the base finished, I decided to put a space marine. I selected several components of different warhammer 40000 minis and I did a special character with face (without helmet), a backpack and dynamic pose.

To paint the terrain... sewer in stone colors, with different textures: water, rust... I added to the original base a sign in the ground.

The mini was painted in a color scheme different of the environment. That is why the color yellow was perfect for my purpose.

And the magic touch in this scene was put on the backpack a smoke effect, made with steel wool (I don't know if is the real name).

I hope you like it, because I 'm very happy to return to the hobby.

Be happy!

I think that the contrast between the glow blue and yellow armor is a device very apt to bring out the character in the neutral tones of the scene. BRAVO! :)

The chipped and worn armor is very well done and the base is splendid!   :)

Love the paintwork, the scenics, and the armour detail...the blue jetpack flames aren't working for me though.  I dunno what I'd do differently as I've never done anything like that - but it just looks odd.  The "lighted" effect on the walls is great, just something about that jet exhaust.

Overall, great piece.
