Farming and Barricades on the Frontier

Having completed the fort I turned my attention this weekend to some other bits of terrain for my French Indian War scenarios.

1. Farmsteads need fields - so a maize field was built




2. Soldiers need barricades, loggers work in the forest so put these together from all the bamboo skewer off cuts.

I like the maize but I think a coat of matt varnish would be an idea

It depends on the time of day. Early in the morning or at dusk when the dew has fallen corn looks shiney like that. Otherwise a coat of matte wouldn't go amiss.
