Stingray and Thunderbirds, and then UFO and Space 1999 - I always thought the Eagle was one of the most realistic spacecraft designs in science fiction, and iconic at that. And I remember being terrified by the scene where they remove the alien's eye covers in UFO, and trying to decide whether I preferred the Interceptors, Sky 1 or the SHADO Mobiles - Sky 1 generally topping the Interceptors as I figured it had more than one shot at a UFO! Today I'd say Seagull X-Ray is my favourite from this series.
I introduced UFO and Space 1999 to some of my students recently - some of the vehicles were the topic of an assignment in materials selection.
