This is somewhat reminiscent of the old "Great Game" days.   British officers on "holiday" going off into the Back of Beyond on "shooting trips".   lol lol lol

So have fun on your "trekking"  ;) trip, and I hope you don't run into any Russians on "geological" holidays lol lol lol

Butterflies dear boy, butterflies.....

Ah yes the butterfly collector ...

I'll be reviewing your drawings of the wings with interest  ;)

It sounds fantastic, enjoy.

I'll be collaring Bolshy on the subject  :D

The adventure has got to the stage of checking out the firms who organise such trips, just have to go to Italy first to see Pompei etc. That should happen in April or May.

Several of my co workers are from the area, as there has been a large exodus from Wolgagermans in the 80ies. A friend of mine has made a holiday trip to Uzbekistan last summer, the pics she showed me made me very interested in going myelf. Safety was no problem, my friend being a lady near 70. Only thing she mentioned were the horrible WCs, she said even on a hiking trip in Guatemala she had never witnessed such... urgh!

She mentioned digestion problems caused by the local use of cotton oil for cooking, something europeans aren't used to.

OK.  In what way does this cause a problem?  Too much or too little?
